Description
Noboru (meaning “to climb” in Japanese) takes inspiration from the American Shaker movement and its efficient simplicity as a minimalist stepladder that easily turns into a stool or side table. Designedby Canadian duo MSDS Studio, the lower step can slide in and out with the aid of a short handle under the surface. Crafted in gorgeous solid oak, it has a slim profile that counters the usual tool-like feeling of such pieces, say the designers. “We wanted to produce a step stool that could be unobtrusive and useful when it wasn’t being used for accessing the out of reach.”
